A Contrast of Trees

We’ve arrived.

Okay, we actually arrived from Florida to the Midwest two weeks ago, but we’ve arrived and we’ve settled in and unpacked.  And, importantly, have the Internet!

I have fun tales to share with you of our travels, and of some interesting things that happened before we left. But before we go there, I just wanted to share this simple, beautiful photo.

A normal, tree-lined Fall street in Wisconsin.

If you live up North already, this may not look special to you at all. But after four years down in Florida with palm trees and scrub pines to look at it, it’s absolutely stunning to me. The Fall leaves, the bright colors..  It’s a beautiful beautiful sight to our weary eyes.

Our first week back, we were driving back from an errand and saw a cute little brown-haired three year old lad with his parents, jumping happily into a pile of leaves they had made on the sidewalk. The look of sheer joy on his face was awesome. That, my friends, is what life is all about sometimes. Jumping into a leaf pile just because it’s super fun!

I’m just saying hi real quick, and that I’m looking forward to getting back to regular postings and sending out our fun little newsletter.  Our trip was adventurous, sad and exciting, all at the same time.  I’ll tell you all about it.  And this week? We’re going to spend some quality time with our Northern Contingent and our families and simply enjoy the last of the Fall season. And jump into some leaves!
